Yes I've installed them on a 3L over a year ago. the main thing to reference is if they are made for the 2.5 spec then they will be very slightly shorter which only means that there will be a small error in calculating the compression ratio. However if you have a 3L spec rod length and use it in the 2.5 then you have just decreased the piston to valve clearance which is very minimal anyways. What does Pauter say the center to center measurement of their rod is?

Did Scat mention any possibility of offering a crank along with the rest of the parts for a complete rotating assembly? if so we would be interested.......

Why? Our stock forged crank can take more power than anyone will likely ever put on this platform...

From the little research that I've done all of the Contour SVT's came with forged cranks, however, only after xx year did Ford start putting the forged cranks in the other Duratecs.....can anyone elaborate?

will they be available for the 3L, with a 1mm overbore, and in any reasonable compression ratio?

ALL Duratecs (2.5L or 3L) have the same fully counterweighted forged billet crank design.
The balancing is of course different on the 3L engine.
Which for the record has supported over 1200 HP. The crank is not an issue.

Since it is a forged crank, I agree that the stock crank is more than enough.

This is absolutely, positively, 100% incorrect information. ALL 2.5L and 3.0L Duratecs use the same rod no matter if they are Escape, Taurus, Contour, Mondeo, or Lincoln LS. This rod has a center-to-center distance of 138.1 ± 0.040mm. And that's straight from the blueprint of the rod, folks.
The ONLY exeception to this rule is the 2.0L (yes, 2.0L) Duratec used by Jaguar. It is a basically a short stroke 2.5L. Unique piston, crank, and rod.

Actually, thanks to Mr Haines, I have the actual Ford factory specs for both the 2.5L Duratec and 3.0L Duratec Connecting Rods....and they are in fact slightly different.
The wrist pin's are slightly larger on the 3.0L Rods and the center-center length is different.
