Overpriced is relative ... my Vaio was only $1400 when I bought it in June 2002 (at the time a good price), was actually the best deal in CompUSA for my budget. Granted it is their entry level series, but I loved it ... see my above post. And certainly not bloated, even their current models, when put against comparable laptops.

this is the Sony model I have link

It has taken quite a beating in the last 2 years without any issue. The only requirement of yours it does not have is wireless and XP Pro. Both of which can be easily and quickly remedied and relatively little cost.

It has wireless and an amazing screen, espically when viewing DVD's
