I forgot about Sony. Their stuff seems to be pretty good although on the expensive end of the spectrum. I've only known 1 person who has one and he hasn't had a hardware problem with it. They did pre-load a bunch of junk software though. If you didn't go with the IBM the Sony is a solid choice.

I have an HP and they are OK, I bought it because it was dirt cheap, I don't think I would spend $1500 or so on one though.
