Dell's are just too big, toshiba's are pretty bulky too but i'd take one over a dell.
I really don't like compaq AT ALL. Too many bad experiences over the years, though, HP's laptops I like, surprisingly considering they are now the same company. Stay away from anything with the presario name on it though. Garbage.
I would agree with this guy. I have an IBM laptop that I refurbished from two unworking 390E's its just a pentium 2, but it has taken a beating and still runs perfectly. the thing I dont like about IBM laptops, is the way they are built, IMPOSSIBLE to work on, but IBM had that in mind since they are so reliable. The new ones look really attractive though, defintale make a few people peek over at your nerdery
