Now now. Don't be so hard on the guy.
While 15 hp does seem bloated, you will get some improvement. 5-8 hp would be reasonable expectation, 10hp beeing the max I would expect. That is if the new code plays nice with the 17# injectors. Timing bumps have always increased power, if you can manage to avoid detonation. With the lower compression ration on stock SEs, detonation will not be a problem with 92 octane gas. Plus the speed limiter will vanish and the rpm limit will be higher. Its a good deal for the price.

Just wanted to mention that I'm the guinea pig, and I think my car would make a great one at that. I mean, I happen to have a ported and polished SVT TB, LIM, port matched upper, lightened flywheel, mystery mod, and optimized "y" pipe, so I'm fairly certain that I'll see a marked improvement. (I also have a set of 19lb injectors at my disposal that I'll be throwing in at a later date) If it helps, great. If not, I'll recalibrate it back to stock. Someone, after all, has to make sacrifices in the name of research to better all our Contour Brethren....

Well, its done... I had my Mystique PCM recalibrated to SVT specs. So far, here is what I've found: -First of all, the car runs fine. No pinging, no misfire, no driveability concerns whatsoever. -Low end seems improved. Subtle, but it is there. Mainly in throttle response. Power seems more linear. -Strange side effect is that the temp guage reads much LOWER! The guage has consistently read between the R and M in "NORMAL", and now it sits comfortably nestled in between the N and O. -I have yet to test the speed limiter, if it is there at all anymore. No chance to get to an isolated highway this evening to open her up. - I now have a Check Engine light, due to "running lean" condition. Those 19lb injectors should clear that right up later this week. -I may have lost a bit of top end power, but once again, 19lb'ers will clear this right up. I will follow up on this once I've tested the limiter and the 19lb injectors. Any questions?

Anyway, I'll be putting a Diablo chip on my 96, but the cost is 399$Can and I can't pay that much. Vince.

Well, got those 19lb'ers in... Yes, the speed limiter is gone, and the car pulls great. I won't say its a huge night and day difference, very subtle.
I intend to dyno the car this summer so we'll see what exactly she's running then.
All in all, I find this to be a worthwhile mod. Injectors are a must, though.
