They could do it to the last few inches of each port, but not any deeper. Hence the reason for needing the EH process...

Wayne - The EH process was done on a bare UIM. Then the manifold was powdercoated. Then the surfaces were machined.
This is why you can get powdercoating (sand paper) inside the ports (I had none personally) and the mating surfaces roll into the airflow of the ports. (I had that on every port!)
That's the part the UIM was ported and polished. I know getting another treatment at Extrude Hone would have been better, but the UIM has already been worked on before I got it. I'm not about to just throw it away and buy another new one just because of it...

Just get them port matched like Demon said. That's about as good as you're going to get without sinking some massive money into the heads.

I just had some chips in mine that look bad, didn't know what the material was. I thought it was some kinda ceramic coating for heat....I really didn't know
