I did a search on this code and everyone say that you need to jump the pcm. Is this true, and also did anyone do this them self and have a "how to" on it.

I have the chip and did the jump myself, after seeing Kaisers ECU and how Superchip had jumped his.
It is REALLY easy to do and you don't even need wire.
There are two jumps you need to do, and each one is RIGHT next to each other, so I just used the solder to link each connection as required.
Unfortuantely I don't have any pics. but if someone had a pic of the underside of the ECU (the side where all the connection are soldered) I could show you where and how to do it.

I have a question. Are these the two places which need to be jumpered? I had problems getting my superchip to work on mine. If I have the chip installed the car wouldn't start. Pulled the chip out and car runs perfect. Tim '00 SVT

Here is a modified picture I took from edorfox (Thanks mate!). {I am indebted to you for showing me the fuel pump pics. I have to fix that pesky bugger myself (stumbling after cornering)} I have an arrow pointing to the jumper location. You have to scrape off the thin silicone goof off the four contacts and then run a bead of solder from each of the top contact to the bottom contacts. You cannot allow the contacts to touch, from side to side. Make sure by running a screwdriver between the two bridged terminal sets after you're done to ensure separation.

I would recommend replacing the coating on those two locations when you are done. Have no idea where to get some commercially, but what you want is "silicone conformal coating". Made (industrially) by Dow Corning, among others. I would be surprised if Superchips didn't do this. If they aren't - they should be!
The problem is that over the long term, unprotected electrical circuits tend to "grow" dendrites of salts that fall out from the atmosphere, or "tin whiskers" (especially on solder alloys containing tin and less than 1% lead - like most commercial solders). I've seen SEM photos of this, they are a big problem in electronics, and they can cause shorting between the parallel solder bridges.
Not sure what would happen if they shorted. It's also something that could take years to become a problem. It's still good advice when dealing with the PCM. Don't want it to shut down at 80 MPH on the highway, unexpectedly.
