I run games from my PS2 HD. As stated before, you need the original style PS2, the new ones don't have room for a hard drive.

You need a PS2 network adapter. Yes, a network adapter, that's what the hard drive hooks up to. Don't worry, you don't need to network anything. Should be about $40.

Then you need an IDE hard drive. An old hard drive you have laying around works fine, just keep in mind that most PS2 games are a couple gigabytes. I'd recommend at least a 60 or 80 gig drive.

Then you need HDLoader or HDAdvance. That is the software that lets you copy games to the hard drive. Once the game is copied you boot off the HDLoader CD and pick what game you want off the list. It's really nice not to have to switch CDs around. HDLoader should be about $35 if you can still find it. I thin HDAdvance is a newer program based on HDLoader.

Not every game works with HDLoader, but most do.
