Alright, I have heard that some people will buy a seperate battery for their system and put it in their trunk... so I was just curious as to how these people kept their batter from dieing? I mean why would you do this since it seems like it would die in a heart beat, right?

Any comments welcome!!!

Maybe... wait wait... this is only a guess. Hook it up so it's got flow from the alternator. That's only a guess though.

We did the same thing on the 87 Econoline to charge the battery in the camper and I think its the same Kremit said. not sure exactly how, I would have to look at it and it is under 2 ft. of snow. But it is possible.

I didn't say what he needs to hook it up.

Actually you don't need an isolator.

If you are afraid you might drain your batteries from too much vehicle OFF listening, use a 200 amp Relay.

Most isolators result in a 0.5 to 1 voltage drop to your electrical system because most isolators are nothing but a BIG FAT Resistor.

You want to charge the rear batteries with the alternator as with the front battery.

If you want longer vehicle off play time, get more batteries with as high an Amp Hour rating you can package.

Hook all the batteries in parallel (positive to positive and negative to negative) and the amp hours are additive and you get a low internal resistance.

At one time I used eight 28 AH batteries with no CAP, Isolator or Relay. I could get like 13 volts with car off and play for hours contuously.

true true. i suppose i was just being overcautious with my reccomendation. honestly, if he doesn't do a lot of vehicle off listening, or spl comps, i think an extra battery is a waste. there are plenty of other areas that i would tackle first.
