Exactly.
Some people just don't understand that point though. They think chopping the stalk is the same thing when it's not.
Chopping the stalk DOES shorten the throw . Shortening the stalk 2 inches shortens the throw by just over an inch. i'm throwing this in here for arguments sake based solely on the coments made above.
Makes for a leverage problem, right? Longer shift lever, more leverage.  The short shift comes from different geometry at the linkage/cable attachment point (via length/shape,etc)
