OK, apart from my issues with the right rear light, I am now finding that from time to time, the car will suddenly be producing less electricity. The dash lighting goes dim, the fan slows, and then they both jump right back to life. This is RPM independent, and can happen on acceleration or deceleration.

My battery is a smidge weak, but still starts the car OK. Could that be the issue?

you have a loose cable somewhere. start with the battery(make sure the clamps are clean - pour a can of coke on them if they are corroded(white stuff) on them) and make sure they are tight. next check the alternator cables.
