I would like to thank all follow CEG'ers who brought this problem to my attention. Got them cleaned yesterday and I only had 31,000 miles on my car. They were coated in gunk (the heads still are) and the performance improvement is very noticeable. Even sounds better.

I got a garage to do them...check out threads for the exact stuff....something like Xylene or a paint thinner type product...soak then scrub

You can use a brake cleaner too... Works wonders for a fast cleaning. See my website in the Mod section.

Do you need a new UIM gasket? How long does it take?
I read thru the "How To" on how to rebuild the intake system, is it that involved?

Took me 2 Hours and 2 beers.... You can still use the same gaskets 3-4 times... Clean the gaskets, and all the holes, then if you have a baby, you should have a brush to clean the baby bottles, so don't tell your wife and use it to clean the inside of the manifold It can take you 2-3 cans of cleaner, and a good arm! When everything is finish, you start your can with the gaz pedal on the floor, and make the car iddle High until the black smoke is gone... And ENJOY!
