I very rarely give anybody the chance to ding my doors...I park way out away from everyone pretty much all the time. Besides a little walk never hurt anyone anyway 
Same here. If you have to part next to someone, try to pick a nice one, not a beater. Hopefully the owner will be as careful as you are.
For removing the glue, I used a plastic decal smoother. I wrapped a wet towel on the edge so I wouldn't scratch anything. As long as I kept it wet, it did a great job. Beats the crap outta using your thumb. I used a clay bar on any spots that were left. I really don't care to spray chemicals on my paint. No matter what the can says, you never have any guarantees. It only took about 2 hours from peeling the strips off to rewaxing the doors.
