the only dings i have got, are too high for the ding guards to help at all
same here. i got dings while i had the ding guards on. they dont really do much. a car's "point" on the door would have to be at that precise level for the guards to do their job. obviously, the outermost point on a car's door varies greatly with billions of cars out there. these stupid things are more for aesthetics than anything, although we dont like them. ive heard them referred to as "breakup lines" which are there to break up the vastness of a plain door. some cars actually look kind of funny when their guards are removed.
Another vote for "Door ding guards = useless"
I got hit with them, and not a scratch since then. If you like the look, cool, but I think the plain door panel is more european.
I guess this has already all been said 1000 times before, but whatever.
