I would assume your friends' is the 200SX SE-R, right? The original Sentra SE-R departed after 1994. Unfortunately, with its K-car/Maxima beam-axle rear end, the 200SX was a slight handling dissapointment out of the box, unlike its IRS Sentra predecessor. The whole package didn't have quite the un-quantifiable charm that the original Sentra SE-R had.

From SentraDriven on the Ricer forum... Everyone who whines about how rice can't beat a fast car believe me it can. I even have links and videos and proof of civics beating corvettes and even vipers.
Proof of Civics beating Vettes and Vipers??? In what category? Ugliest aesthetics? I can see a NOS'd civic beating a '79 vette with a 305, 170hp, but a Viper? Maaaybe in a 1/4 mile...still...
"I'm from Missouri. Ya know what our motto is? We're the 'Show me' state. So...show me!"
I love my Contour to death, but my 'vette is still my #1 baby. There's money to be made in racing. I should know. I put a lot of it there. You can make a small fortune in racing. Start with a large one. How fast do you want to go...how much money do you have? You can fix a lot of things, but you can't fix stupid!

Evolution is correct, I have seen video's of a white civic beating a viper RT/10. The civic beats him off the line and for about 7/8 of the track. but I believe the viper catches him in the end. It's hard to believe that a rice burner with turbo/nitrous and 2/5 the cylinders can beat a 450hp all american musle car, but it can be done. However, If the viper was modified with a venom exhaust...etc. and the person actually knew how to drive, I'd like to see a rematch!

I started out Ford with my 66 F100 with a 351 Cleveland motor and I love Fords. Now I hve a NIssan and all I have to say is, I know I can run Camaro's and 5.0's. My buddy has a great contour with some nice mods, but they can't hold close to me. I have a 1991 Sentra SE-R and won't ever get rid of it. Easy to work on, lots of aftermarket, balanced handling on the track (slight understeer depending on suspension) and cheap to maintain. The SVT contour is one of my favorit ford parts right now along with the SVT focus. I will someday build up a focus and see how it goes. Good luck to you all if you find an SE-R on the road!

i actually ran into a brand new SER, not sure if Vspec or whatever, didnt notice, but we where at a roll at 45, i was in 3rd not sure about him, he saw me and punched it and his nose a bit ahead of mine, we went up to about 75 and he didnt pull or neither did i, so i dunno.. they look cool, but maybe still not as good as the older boxer body style sers, got my arse handed to me by one of them... 200SX SERs are easy, if they are not modded heavily... some around her with just intake and exhaust i can beat... but some have NOS and some CAM etc and go wacko...

From SentraDriven on the Ricer forum... Everyone who whines about how rice can't beat a fast car believe me it can. I even have links and videos and proof of civics beating corvettes and even vipers. Such silliness. A Honda can be modified so as to beat a Vette/Viper BUT... 1) It will be a one trick pony. FWD suspension set up for drag racing will allow it to be slaughtered in a roadcourse race. 2) Reliablity will drop dramatically. Figure 1 season survival if lucky without rebuild 3) Interior will be sacraficed & it will be very loud and annoying sounding -no fun to drive anywhere but on a dragstrip 4) It will cost as much as a Vette or probably more to operate with its massive depreciation & frequent rebuilds. 5) It will never look, sound, feel as cool and it will not elevate your social status now matter how many Vipers you beat. You will remembered as "the punk with the fast ricemobile" PS, a moped could be modified to go faster than a Viper too.

I think just about anyone could learn a few things about talking smack by reading that. I dig that forum though. At least they get to talk about street racing...
