i think you're misunderstanding me.

a) i could have gotten a shot off after the first punch.
b) it's sketchy to get involved in other peoples conflicts, especially with a firearm.
c) even if your life is in danger and it's self-defense, there is a very good chance that you will go to jail for shooting the guy. you will have to prove your innocence.
