I have one, but am by no means an expert. My friend did it so I figured I'd do mine also and he could help. I bought the stock 65mm 4.6L throttle body from a 98 GT. We had to unscrew the butterfly and then pull out the place where the throttle cable connects and flip it around. (Wishing I had a good close picture right now) Then, we had to file down some of the plastic to make the cable run smoothly thru it. I got mine at www.dfwstangs.com. Just find a mustang board and put a post out there that says, "Anybody who has upgraded the TB on a 4.6L mustang and wants to sell me their old one for $40 or so, let me know." I had mine in 24 hours. Good luck!

Is there anything else that needs to be done for this to work on an SE? I thought I heard stuff about needing better control of air/fuel, i.e. apex-i or the like? I wanted to go with a larger TB myself but that talk scared me away, anyone care to comment?

I'm not real familiar with the SE setup. From what I understand, upgrading to a CSVT throttle body made quite an improvement.

make sure you have enough air coming in to support that large of a TB, remember intake velocity is imporant. (Otherwise we wouldn't have secondaries right? :p ) Secondly make sure you are getting that air out. My suggestion is to go with an SVT TB and once you do a 3L swap or something drastic then go bigger. Im running an KKM, Aussie pipe, Optimized SVT TB and ST2000 upper intake manifold and a SHO Y-pipe on the back end and my SE runs like a scalded dog. Im going to miss it, my best friend is buying it next week. At least it will be around for me to drive occasionally

I just finished installing a honed UIM and new 60 MM throttle body and used SVT airbox on my 96 SE V-6. The honed manifold plus the cleaning I gave to the lower manifold made a noticeable performance difference. I used my original 54 MM TB. for a few weeks before I installed the SVT equipment.I was disappointed in the sound of the SVT air box, it sounded like the stock Duratec setup. I removed the fender to airbox adapter (Hose) and now it sounds good and seems to perform better when you get on it. One tip I'll pass along is if you do a cleaning to the intakes and the mileage/age of car dictates, now is the time to change the water hose from the water pump to the engine block. The hose wasn't in stock at one dealer and is expensive, so I would order one from Bill or the other CEG dealers ahead of time because it looks hard to reinstall a new one with the UIM in the way.
