I was plannin on putting my subs amp and new front speakers in tonight but was less than sucessful. I didnt know how to get the thing on the doorhandle off that has screws underneath it, but im going to check the faq for that one. When i took the bottom screws of the door off i felt water in there. Anyone know what thats about? doesnt seem like it could be a good thing but i dont know for sure...
Then i couldnt get the power wire for the amp throught the firewall. im sure theres an easier way than how i was trying.
(if you couldnt guess this is a first system install>>)

I can help you out with getting the door panels off. Here's a Mastersheet

As for the water, that's usually not good. There are many ways it could have got there though, and not all of them signal something bad.

There are gromets somewhere in the firewall where some wiring comes into the car from the engine bay. Just find a wire that runs through the firewall, and push it through the same gromet.

I forget who's it is, but needless to say it's not mine.

I got this thing from a fellow CEG'r a long time ago, right after I joined. I can't tell you how many times I've posted that link to help people who have questions.

I wish I could remember who originally posted that darn thing, because we surely owe them a thank you.

Edit: It's yours isn't it, I think I remember you giving me that link three years ago when I wanted to replace my stereo.

Anyway, thanks. Like I said, its helped a lot of CEG members.

I have no clue about the water but you might want to consider some resealing.
For the power wire, it all depends on whether your tour is a mtx or atx. I have found that the atx's have a nice spot where you can feed the wire right through an existing groumet. Now on my SVT i searched that engine bay for hours trying to find a spot to run it. I ended drilling a hole down by the clutch pedal.
If you look at the fire wall on the drivers side from the engine bay you can see a little budge. I ended drilling right through the tip of it.
Hope that helped somewhat

I found this picture. Also try searching for "power cable/ firewall" and you should get a significant amount of info, I did.
