I was that way at Spring Zing, including gutted pre-cats, no resonator, no main cat, no muffler. Needless to say, ugly sound, loud, deafning, and everyone wanted to know what was that crap. It will get people looking alright.

I drove the car 5 miles even without the exhaust manifold, now that is loud and popping.
That's just crazy... so much for needing backpressure wink

I was getting nods from bikers though... and I had NO trouble drowning them out. hehe

Too bad when I finally got to the muffler shop, they said they wouldn't be able to work on my car until tomorrow mad

That's not good at all. Good way to burn a valve.

the mystery mod is not reversable, but the headers are. I don't want to totally kill the resale value. How many people actually have the apexi? I did a search and only found a couple.

95Mike, bnoon sells pre-gutted manifolds if you want to go that route. That way, it's just as reversable as the headers. But, if you're planning on taking off the manifolds anyway (and you have $600) I'd say go for the headers.

I'd say at least a dozen ppl have the Apexi unit, all w/ great results. From what I gather, it's not really a good starting point mod. To get max power/efficiency you'll have to re-tune it after you add each mod. That said, 6-10hp (easy) for $300 is an awesome bang for the buck, and at least you can re-tune it unlike a chip.

I was going to save up for the headers, but if brad has those... wink How much does he charge anyway, his site is under repair. right now I have the pro-m airflow meter with a k+n on the end. I'll pick up the sp intake pipe just for looks, but that is all I'm thinking of right now. I suppose I'll have to get a y-pipe if I just get the mystery manifolds. Has anyone tried the equal length one from performance fords?
