My car is in the dealership now getting its clogged pre-cats replaced under warranty. I just got a call from the service manager saying that they ordered the WRONG pre-cats??? Aparently the SVT have high flow pre-cats and they ordred the regular contour version???
Is this true, I thought they were the same thing. I just want to make sure Im not getting the runaround.

I know the main cat is 2.25" as opposed to the regular one which is 2". Im not sure if the precats are different or not. I always thought they were the same...

I guess its possible that they are different...

You are getting the run around.

The pre-cats are the same.

I spoke to them again, aparently its standard procedure to replace all the cats when there is a warranty issue. So they are replacing the Main cat as well. So am I still getting the run around?? Its all not costing me a cent.

Definitely the same.. If they're replacing your main cat also, they could be waiting on that, as the SVT cat is higher flowing than the standard Duratec.

Why worry about the pre cats...when you put on your headers you'll be removing those anyway....if you are serious about performance...you will put on headers....sooner or later...
