not sure if you have ever looked at your gauges. but svt or non svt they have light and dark spots. the svt are worse on the numbers the the non svt are. Your gonna have them. Once you tear your gauges apart you will understand why a 45 degree led, versus a 90 degree doesn't matter a whole bunch. Most of its based on reflections and err. can't think of the other word. damn it. anyways, 75% isn't the angle.

I phrased that wrong I meant white/clear lights rather than green tinted lights. Now I have to find a way to get the green tint off the back of the gauges to allow colored lights to pass through.

Has anybody tried to "clear" the stock SVT gagues? Is the gauge itself green tinted plastic or is it in fact just a film?

Clearing it would cause mor damage then you wanted. The gauges user color heat transfer, they are melted into the gauges and would make it extremely hard to just scratch it away and leave anything decent looking. however near the trip there is a green plastic piece that is melted into the gauge assembly, it makes it pretty hard to get the green tint gone But its do able.

Well I tried an alternative and contacted www.importintelligence.com. They said they can make up custom gauges that look stock but light up a color of your choice. $69 each with 10 orders vs. $89 with 1 order. Anybody interested? If so I will gladly will coordinate the buy.

thats not bad, if it was at the right time, i would be interested in a set. Do they all have to be the same color?

Nope, any of the 4 colors listed. I will try my best to see what can be done about clear but doesn't look promising.
