To answer my own question (and Pole120's), Klean Strip makes fiberglass paint stripper. I just ordered some from another Marine/Boating shop (they are loving me), so we'll see how it works out. For 13.99 + 7.50 in shipping, I think it's worth it not having to sand it all off.
