The Sony Ericssons such as my T616 and Kremit's T637 (basically an updated version of the T61* models) have awful cameras. I love the phone for the amount of features it has but the camera takes horrible pictures at medium to low light. Other phones can take better pictures.
That said, I wouldn't recommend a camera phone for sole use of the camera. The camera is designed primarily for viewing the pictures on that tiny phone screen and sending them to others' phones to view on their tiny phone screens. If you're looking to take pictures of real estate, etc, then you're MUCH better off with a 3.1 MP or better digital camera, especially since you can get one cheap nowadays.
