My first turn of a wheel was in a 1995 Dodge Neon Sport. With the killer three-speed auto. Yay! I took my drivers test in a 1999 Mercury Mystique with the 4 pot because I didn't want to go crazy in the car first dubbed my own, a 1999 Ford Contour Sport. Later I owned a 1987 Toyota Corolla FX16 for about four months and then a 1998 Ford Escort ZX2. I tried to learn stick in my friend's 1995 Ford Ranger for a little bit and then fully learned it in my uncle's 2003 Toyota Matrix XRS. Man that was barrels of fun! -SAV

Legally: My moms 1994 Ford Escort LX 5 Speed MTX 1.9L I4, And then my Contour after I got the plates and title to it Illegally: Joyride in my neighbor's Buick Park Avenue when I was 14 *I serviced it, owner was at work, and my g/f dared me... you dont say chicken out to a girl (Impressed her, so it was all good, no scratches or anything either on the Buick either) * I told the owner a long time later that I did, she just laughed and said I was crazy

1972 or '03 Chevy Nova. That is all my high school had in small "fleet" at that time. My senior year in high school I was a "student helper" in Drivers Ed, that was fun getting to sit in the car with hot chicks in the little closed course we had on campus.

1965 Ford Pickup with a snow-plow. My Dad let me plow while he ran his front-end-loader tractor. He had contracts to plow the parking lots of a couple of churches and a college. I was 14 years old and felt like a "real" man. I loved having coffee and a late dinner with him at the diner. Got paid for it to!
In Ohio at that time, It was legal to operate farm equipment (to include trucks) at 14.

I think the first car I ever turned the wheel in was our Chevette when I was really little. Our parents used to let my brother and I take turns sitting on their lap and just steer while they did the pedals down our dirt road (we lived in the STICKS!)
I must have been 5.
When my older brother was learning to drive around 15 for his license, I tagged along (I was around 12-13). We drove the family Oldsmobile Cutlass Cruiser station wagon. lol
When it was around the time for me to learn for my license, we had an 89 Pontiac Bonneville, which eventually became my car in college. That thing is still going strong, now my younger brother's vehicle. Engine just won't die, although it needs new motor mounts.
My car for drivers ed was a Corsica. I remember there was a lime green Geo Metro that everyone wanted. Looking back, why the hell did we all want to drive that pile of crap??
I learned manual on my GL a couple years ago

1970's Chebby van behind my grandpa's at 14. Also my dad's 74 Bronco. That thing was tight! Still wish he would have kept it. For drivers ed I think we had Lumina's.
