I've been building for a few years. I'm currently sub shopping (with some input from Dave ). I have a new HT room (well, I will on march 12) to work with. Next fall, I plan to upgrade the tv to something in the ~50" range. The pic below is my current setup. I have a new component rack waiting still in the box for my new room. At that time the center channel speaker will go directly under the tv.

I've been hearing great things about the SVS line of subs. However, if you plan to build your own there are endless options.

I rarely ever use it anymore, but here:

FRONT:

Stewart Filmscreen Model A 16:9 100" diagonal Electric Screen with 12v trigger (automatically lowers when electronics are turned on, automatically retracts when off). THX certified microperforated bottom blackout section for center channel sound

Aurum Cantus Music Goddess ribbon tweeter front speakers
Aurum Cantus MR-C ribbon tweeter center channel (inside hidden alcove built into fireplace mantle)

DISPLAY(sorry this one is ugly, don't have any current pictures with it finished up):

Dukane ImagePro 9017, JVC DLA-SX21u clone. 1400 x 1050 native 3-chip D-ILA/LCOS projector

SUBWOOFER:

SVS B4+, cornerloaded. Speaker on top is just there for size reference. It's an Aurum Cantus Leisure 2 SE (I use 4, two for rears, two for surrounds).

You can see it here next to an Atlantic Technology 370 THX Ultra certified 15" subwoofer, which I no longer use. Size wise, it's just funny.

RACK (old picture):

VOOM HD satellite. Now using Samsung SIR-T165, along with 4-port HDCP compliant DVI switcher
Lexicon MC-8B 7.1 channel Pre/Pro with Logic 7
V.Inc DVI based DVD player with custom resolutions
LiteOn DVD+R/RW burner & built in TV tuner
Behringer Feedback Destroyer Pro (using as EQ for sub)
Crown K2 amplifier (bridged for 2500w at 4 ohm into the subwoofer)
Panamax Max4400 20amp power distribution
Panamax Max4400 20amp power distribution
Panamax Max5100 balanced power filtration system
Adcom GFA7807 7 channel 300w per channel into 8 ohm (tested to 600w per channel into 4 ohm, which the speakers are)

Two dedicated 30amp lines
One shared 20amp line

SEATING:

1 couch, 1 loveseat, 1 recliner. Total of 5 fully reclining positions. Sorry, old old old picture before most of construction was done:

Oh yeah, speaker cables are, of course, KnuKoncept Karma.

Mark,

That is a huge improvement in rooms! Looks excellent.

The next setup is outstanding, i am a big fan of the Aurum Cantus ribbons, what model tweeter do these contain? Can't go wrong with SVS subs, I suppose.

From what I've heard, they're amazing subs.
