LOL, I was going to say....that looks like a Forest Gump lasar disc at the bottom of your entertainment center. Also, don't go wasting your money on a plasma tv....RP-LCD are the best as far as picture quality goes right now and they are usually a little cheaper than plasmas. The tv I have in my original post is a SONY RP-LCD 55"....you may say, those take up more space, well they do but only by a few inches....but if your main concern is picture quality, you are sacrificing that by going with a plasma. I belive the one I have is only about 11" deep.
Oh, one other thing....don't go wasting your money on expensive cables like Monster unless you can get them at a good price. The advantage you gain by going with those over other cable companies is not worth the money. I can prove it to you via some equations I learned in my electromagnetics class if you really want. Don't get me wrong, everything I have is hooked up via Monster Cable or professional series Acoustic Research, but then again I get them for 50-60% off. I am not suggesting you use the crap the interconnects that companies some times give you with the product you bought, I am just saying your average cable you can buy that is sitting next to the Monster Cable in the store will be fine.

I wish I could share that discount, but I am not really in a position to do so any more. I worked at Best Buy back in my earlier days so that is how I got that discount. I still have a buddy who work there and can get me discount, but I know he wouldn't be down for being a whole bunch of other people stuff considering they can fire him if they catch him.

Bullion, Do you want to see what one of the best options Parts Express has for a wire with superior noise rejection and very good LCR measurements... http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=240-025In a car, I am willing to spend more money and get some nice quality UTP because of the excessive noise in that environment.

Wow, those wires look worse than the stuff that comes with electronics. In the car, yes, shielding is very important due to the extra noise and magnetic fields that are present. Then again, depending on how many devices you have in your entertainment center and what other devices are near those can create a good deal of noise too....so yes, shielding is important.

Well, be careful with the word shielding. In a car, UTP (unshielded twisted pair) wire is superior to shielded wire. At home, shielded wire is superior to UTP because of the types of noises in each environment. Hell, half the time, the big thick bulky wires are inferior to the cheapies in noise rejection.

My mistake...i am still new to the car audio side of things, so i failed to mention that. Either way, most of use know what wires are optimal for the environments we are using them in. The real discussion is on home theatre setups...interconnects.

I'm currently sub shopping (with some input from Dave ). I have a new HT room (well, I will on march 12) to work with. Next fall, I plan to upgrade the tv to something in the ~50" range. The pic below is my current setup. I have a new component rack waiting still in the box for my new room. At that time the center channel speaker will go directly under the tv.
