I just wanted to see what audio/visual setups you guys are running at home. Here's mine:

I keep this one in my room for music:

Not too bad for a dorm room:

The box sitting to the right of the entertainment center is an uncarpeted 10" sub, and I have a second sub under the futon. There are also four more speakers surrounding the room.
Needless to say, my Hall Director has had to visit me a couple times due to volume...

Yeah, a couple years back when I lived in the dorms I had actually just bought those dual 10" JBL speakers shown above along with that Yamaha receiver....I got written up so many times for playing loud music. Funny story actually...on two occations I managed to rattle the glass part from a light bulb off of its metal base (the metal threading was left in the light socket and the glass part of the bulb fell off)

bullion,

do you have a sub for the system with the bose 601's.(i didn't see one) Nice set up by the way. Not a big fan of bose myself but very nice none the less.

Yeah, there is a 10" JBL sub...i know it isn't the best but we have had it for a while so we just added it to the Bose setup we have. The Athena sub I have for my other system completely destroys the JBL actually. We have Bose surround all the way around (except the sub which i just mentioned). To tell you the truth, I was never really a huge fan of Bose either until I heard those speakers we have....I believe they are model: 601 They are simply amazing.

Actually, in my opinion, Athena is the only retail subwoofer I would buy. Most other retails subs just straight up are no good....custom/online subs are far superior than your typical retail stuff. In fact, prior to buying the Athena, I bought a 12" Klipsche and Velodyne that were both in the $500 range and they both sounded terrible in my opinion. The Klipsche was by far the worse. The Velodyne was decent, but I am very picky. I obviously ended up returning them both and getting the Athena.....no regrets

Stereo in my room...
Heathkit AR-1500 Receiver
Kenwood 5 disc changer
Dayton 6.5" woofers and Dayton 1" titanium dome tweets
Custom built boxes tuned to 43hz
This setup sounds AWESOME. If you didn't know these were such small drivers, you'd never know they were by their sound...

My Dad's setup...
Hafler Pre-amp and tuner
Hafler DH-120 (For the Mids and highs)
Hafler DH-220(For the JBL woofers)
Rotel Cd player
AudioControl Richter Scale
Sony olde school tape deck
JBL L-100 (12" wofers)
Peerles 5.25" Midrange and JVC Ribbon tweeters

I think needless to say, this setup sounds AMAZING!

here's some links to mine as i'm too lazy to re-size. anyone that knows me will expect to see messy wiring, and this is no exception!! i'm building a new stand for the tube tv and an equipment rack, so i just ignored plumbing that area of the wiring for now.

this first one is a overall view of the HT. on top is the projecter screen that i just built out of parkland (the frame still needs paint yet) and it's 82" iirc. and there's a 32" everyday RCA home theatre series tube tv underneath it.

http://www.msu.edu/~camero52/HT07.jpg

this is the center channel, an RCA linaeum dipole speaker. quite happy with it... very smooth sounding piece.

http://www.msu.edu/~camero52/HT24.jpg

underneath the center channel is my comcast HD/DVR box. i love it.

next are the front satellites, also RCA linaeum's, but these are a bipole. also very nice, though the design allows for some backwave distortion that i'll need to work on. (sorry about pic quality)

the rear satellites are next, and they are some craptastic RCA dual cube speakers. don't like them much, but they are ok for now.

rca prog. scan dvd, ps2, and rca 12" 200 watt sub. i can't tuen the sub up past 1/4 volume without the neighbors bitching.

http://www.msu.edu/~camero52/HT11.jpg

the power for all of this is the RCA STAV-3990. nothing too special, but a solid 5x100 reciever with all the hookups i need.

http://www.msu.edu/~camero52/HT20.jpg

then there's my baby, my infocus x1 dlp projector. what an amazing little unit this thing is for the money. best thing i've bought in some time. it's hanging on a homemade mount that needs paint yet.

http://www.msu.edu/~camero52/HT15.jpg

this is a pic of the x1 projecting onto a bare tan wall. not too shabby imo...

http://www.msu.edu/~camero52/HT 007.jpg

and the remote, which is a sima touch screen.

http://www.msu.edu/~camero52/HT16.jpg

if you hadn't guessed it, most of this was built while a college student working at radioshack.. lol. still, i'm quite happy with the performance.
