Replaced mine with a straight pipe. I've never noticed a rasp ever, even when cold. As far as sound goes, it sounds deep. Not as deep as a V8 would, but pretty nice.

my car has to be almost "hot" for the rasp to go away. have a buddy drive away w/you standing there...youll definatly notice!!! i dont like it....

Replaced mine with a Dynomax Bullet and I love it.No rasp and has a deeper sound.I reccomend it,of course thats just me.
