Ive decided and it has come down to these two. Now the KKM i've heard you get a great sound from it but what about HP gain? all the descriptions ive read on the KKM dont mention an approximate HP gain. The SHO shop intake system on SP motorsports for example is $30 more then the KKM intake and it specifically states that it adds 5-6 HP. I need advice on this. It looks like the majority of SVT owners go with the KKM intake.

I am not sure about HP gains from the KKM, but I would reccommend it. I haven't heard anything about the SHO-Shop one. Did you try a search for the SHO-Shop one?

I would wager that all intake systems will be roughly (read: +/- 1 or maybe 2 HP) equal in power gains. Whether you'll feel a difference between intake Z and intake X is highly unlikely. Go with whatever has the biggest filter.
I went with performancefords.com cause the guys are 'tour owners, work hard to get new products out for our cars, and the piece looks like it will be great quality. If you're interested, I'll be giving my thoughts w/in a day or two (when it comes in).

Go with the sho-shop "cold air intake", it runs around $140 I think and it basically is the KKM with a heat shield. Any open air element filter is going to get that sound, if you cut your stock airbox you get the same effect. You're not really going to notice any difference really in hp or how fast the car is. I have a KKM and now I wish I got either the Sho-shop cold air or pieced together my own custom intake. Jus my $0.02.

Don't forget the heat shield placed right in between the MAF, and the adapter. By the way, I have the Sho Shop cold air. I'm pretty satisfied with it. I got what i wanted. A small boost in HP, and also a save in gas milage. And no heatsoak. If Anything, i might just change my filter, and run a pipe for even more cold air. Just for fun, since it's cheap.

I've got a question and it seems appropriate for this post (forgive me if it's ignorant)...The KKM connects to the SVT fender air-draw, correct? I noticed the set-up DBZJunior posted does not. Is one way necessarily better than the other? I don't know why, but I was thinking any set-up I got would have to connect to that fender air draw.
