I was wondering what size are Borla's tips. Also is there a noticable difference in low end torque ?

unknown, you don't know what you are talking about, and on top of that did you answer anything that JMSVT asked? The tips are 2.5" You can look at a pic of mine on the site bleow.

My butt-dyno noticed a pretty good low end gain on my Cougar with a Borla. No dyno runs to back it up though, so it may have just been my lighter wallet making the car feel faster. I love my Borla, and would definately recommend it.

Check out the dynos forum. I think that's where I saw a post about the Borla providing most of it's gains at the lower rpms (where we need it most, IMHO), while not matching the high rpm peaks of some other brands.
Besides, there's more to it than just power. Well, for some of us anyway. Exhaust is one of those areas that sparks a lot of debate about who does what best, but that really wasn't the question, now, was it?
The tips go from 2" ID to 3" OD, to answer the original question. The pipes after the rear split go down to 2" each.
Yes, with my intake also opened up, I notice more oomph at the low end, but I don't have any numbers for you.

Who drives under 3k rpm???? Borla's gains are in the rpm range that no one uses.. Or only people like: Keith Lennop.. ofcourse Borla compared to stock is going to feel faster.. Buy what you want.

OK "Unknown"
1. You never answered JMSVT's question, instead you just knocked an excellent exhaust.
2. As for pulling my head out off my a$$, you can start by pulling yours out of your friends rear.
3. The Borla may not be the best exhaust, however it does improve the Contours performance where it is needed the most. Why wouldn't someone want more power before the secondaries open up?
4.Borla is backed by an excellent warranty, it is a quality product, and it looks very nice.
5. Everyone drives under 3K, at least they pass by it every now and then. Especially when you leave from a stop. Think about it.
6. Sorry for coming off so sarcastic, but if you are so positive that the Borla is so horrible prove it with research.

1st of all Keith you are manipulating what I said! Our friend JMSVT asked 2 questions: 1. About the size of the tips.. which I did not cover. 2. About torque. I gave a general answer IN MY OPINION about Borla. I never flamed Borla for anything besides not having the gains at higher rpms that other systems of equal value have (check their dyno slips). And as far as the under 3k driving I know when I am going for times I always launch at 1 or 2k.. laff.. And again.. where did I say borla was 'soo horrible'???? borla isn't the best as far as gains go. I must have struck a nerve to get you all wound up like this.

Geez guys calm down. First of all, the borla has 3.5 tips!!!!!!Not 2.5!!!!! again...the borla has 3.5" tips. I noticed a nice gain in low end torque, and a steady gain throughout the rest of the rpm range. According to tests, the borla is the only exhaust(prefab) which gives noticable gains. There is an article floating around here somewhere about it. i'll try to find it and post it
