I have a KKM and when it gets warm out I was experience heat soak and my car would bog down so I just ordered a heat shield for it from Stazi, hope that helps. It's a good intake with a great sound and it only takes about 15min to install but if I were you I would look into BAT intake kits a little more, espicially the one with remote air. Hope that helps, with any open air filter you will experience some heat soak in warmer climates but whatever intake you get you'll probabley be happy with it, if not just for that sound.
