I don't want to go over 100 different opinions on what induction system I should use. However, can someone tell me what system is far and away the most popular on the list? I just want to cut to the chase and buy one. Thanks-

KKM = Most popular
Doesn't mean its the best though!

If I were you I'd grab up a BAT Maf adapter and some sort of 8-9" filter. K&N's are nice and a new filter SilvaBullet sells (AFE filter) is said to give nice gains. The KKM seems to be good for a while but why not go with something that gives you room to build on!

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the input. KKM good for a awhile? Is this because of the filter? What is the advantage of the BAT MAF? Lastly, what is the best retailer to find the KKM at? In stock and ready too ship.

Thanks, Michael

I have a KKM and when it gets warm out I was experience heat soak and my car would bog down so I just ordered a heat shield for it from Stazi, hope that helps. It's a good intake with a great sound and it only takes about 15min to install but if I were you I would look into BAT intake kits a little more, espicially the one with remote air. Hope that helps, with any open air filter you will experience some heat soak in warmer climates but whatever intake you get you'll probabley be happy with it, if not just for that sound.

If you plan on doing any exhaust modifications or any more flow modifications at all, the KKM S&B filter size & design will not provide enough flow. The filter design makes it die at higher rpms and the filter size yeild lower gains obviously than a larger filter.

If you search you'll find several posts about this subject.

Again the KKM is a great kit, but its not for someone who plans on modifying their very much. I'm only saying this because I wish I knew this before I bought it. Now I am to the point where I need to buy a new filter, in order to fully take advantage of all my gains.

So why not do it from the start?

Like I said check into the BAT Maf ADAPTER w/ Screen gasket holder (I wouldn't get their filter kits), then look into a 7-9" K&N or AFE filter, and make or buy a heatshield. If you do this you'll have a good building block!

The BAT tubing is a nice design but you can buy the tubing from Home Depot and run your own.

If you do get a larger filter you may have to do some trimming. Again if you run a search I'm sure you'll get plenty of info on this subject.

Hope that helps

Justin/Silva,

Thanks for the info. It's all coming back to me now. My 3.0 Milano Verde had an super hot engine bay and I remember the heat soak problem and trying to pipe the cooler air remotely. I can't remember the exact stats but the hp loss for every 5 degrees of added heat was terrible. So BAT now makes a pipe. Interesting. I will speak to them. Thanks again-
