I live in Canada, Ontario, and have received a ticket ... funny thing is it took well over a year to appear on my licence.
I've signed for new insurance twice and it never came up. I've actually had my licence checked by my broker too ... so I know it wasn't on there! My wife just got her car the other month and my ticket has appeared!
If this is anything to go by ... I wouldn't be too worried.
