I dont understand something. Isnt a 'spark' just a spark? I mean a spark out of an iridium plug, copper plug or platinum plug should be the same. The spark will ignite fuel and air mixture and thats it. You cant ignite things any better. Once the burn has started then you will make power.

From what I understand, only the heat range is the critical factor. Durability is nice too but I'm one to check my plugs from time to time so I dont care about plugs that last for 60K anyway.

Anyone care to shed some light on this? I mean does it matter what the plug is as long as the heat range is correct ??

There's much more to a plug than meet's the eye's as I have learned!

You are correct the plugs job is mainly to deliver spark but you think a Top Racer would spend $130 for one Denso Plug if it didn't matter. The truth is it does. The Core, Heat Range, Electrode and Ground Electrode all play a major factor in optimizing the efficiency of an ignition system. Realize this when referring to Denso, spark plugs is like a tax write off for them really when you consider all the more advanced products they provide for nearly all Car Manufacters that circle this Globe! Fortunately Denso didn't just design another Plug, they advanced the Technology from the Core, the .4mm Electrode, the patented Tapered Ground Electrode and U-Groove plus there 5rib design. I hate to make these plugs seem like heavansent, but I will say that when it comes to Iridium, Denso TOP's!!!

I will vouch for the Performance Difference I have seen including a major KICK in the A*S at about 5500rpm that I never felt previously with the Autolites. wink

Because sales are for the classifieds or group buy forum (per site rules)

All selling, ads, or attempts to sell in other forums get locked by the moderators.

Funny I checked the applications list and I only come up with a Iridium for the 99 Contour 2.0, WEIRD!!! Nothing for the 95-98 and 00-01...

And as De-man mentions, the moderators don't like to see prices being displayed for parts especially one you're selling in these Forums, there left for the Classifieds or the GB... wink
