Optimizing the lower IM does help out and it can be done for the cost of a couple of gaskets and some screws. After a good cleaning, the screw heads and extra threads can be smoothed out to provide better/more air flow. I felt the TB had a bigger impact, but the lower IM butterflies is also worthwhile.

Well I sure like it a lot... laugh

Just the throttle response and acceleration after shifting are worth it alone IMO.

I never drive below 2500rpm anyway.

14.75 @ 95.5mph (2.3x 60') - Spun 1st & 2nd

3x 14.8x @ 95mph with 2.4x 60' times BLEACH!!! - Spun badly!

I had 3 throw away runs too... (I'm rusty & the stock clutch SUCKS!)

70's, ~80+% humidity, & high barometer.

I sure would have liked to hook up tonight... :p

For reference - 2 other modded SVT's ran 15's at 90 mph & IIRC Dave B (Maxima) ran 14.9 @ 94

Hey Guys, I am saying the same thing. I like the mod, Although I dont think I am getting what I should since I am still getting the stock spark curve becuase we left the ends in to keep the ECU happy. I also think my MAF is holding me back (its stock). Having these secondarys gone really makes you have a nice intake. I needs air!! I just love how our stock Maf has A HUGE bar in the middle...gotta love that laugh

Guys, Is there anyway to make it throw a CEL to get the spark advance??

You know, because I was running the eManage, I was able to cut the center bar out of my stock MAF and still calibrate it. Once it is cut, it doesn't get the same type of flow through the tube and the car will run dangerously lean.
However, using the emanage I was able to increase the voltage from the MAF as rpm varied to get the right feel.
I wouldn't recommend cutting it unless you have a way to tune in the airflow voltage, but if you do, then it is way cheaper than any other aftermarket MAF.

warmonger

You can call me anything you like as long as it's nice.(all lies accepted)

Could I cut the center bar out and tune it with the SAFC??? Man o Man I dont want to blow the engine up. I know my stock MAF is holding me back.

Disconnect the plastic clip from the secondary actuator. MIL should light up during your first drive. wink

And that will advance the timing....therefore a small increase in power Brad???

According to DemonSVT's OBD-II plots (I looked at mine to confirm it), with the MIL on and no return spring, the timing map jumps up at around 2,500 RPM IIRC. With the return spring in place, it jumps up at around 32-3500...

No return spring = faster timing advance = more power so long as you don't ping. wink
