Seems like 1.5 quart would be fine. I looked at Pegasus to get the parts separately, and the tank and electronic valve together are about $300, and we haven't done the nice AN fittings, yet. I think the BAT kit is a good package.
Only way you'd save much money is going with a manual valve, but that seems like it would be a PITA.

To get my complete set-up through Summit: 1.5 qt Moroso Accumulator, Electric Valve, 6' Hose, Hose fittings, thread converters, and mounting brackets = $351.13 (before discounts) + handling, shipping is free.
BAT kit is $349.00 + shipping
1. BAT kit is Accusump brand, Summit is Moroso.
2. Moroso is 1.5qt Accusump is 1qt
3. BAT kit gives option of ordering with either sandwich adapter that goes between oil filter and block, or with fitting to attack into oil galley.
4. $2.13 gains .5qt of capacity, (Summit also has a Mororso 3qt for $10 CHEAPER than the 1.5qt if you can find the space)

I have one of the Accusump, i believe, 3 quart accumulators that i've never gotten around to installing. If anyone is interested in it please shoot me a PM. Thanks.

I'm about to order an accumulator. Before reading this thread I was gonna call BAT. I guess now, for the same price, would it be wise to go ahead and get the Moroso for the benefit of the extra .5 quart? Is bigger "better" in this case?

Alright, let me pose my question another way.....
The BAT catalog says the Accusump will pump oil for up to 20 seconds. Now, I'm a complete track noob but surely 20 seconds is long enough to get you through any starvation situation. Right?
And using this guideline, will larger unit simply pump oil for a longer time or does it pump a larger amount of oil for the same amount of time?

P.S.- I'm also gonna look into mounting in the cabin filter location, but relocating the battery can only help for weight transfer purposes, correct?

Seeing as the pressure in the accumulator is going to be equal to the main oil pressure gallery pressure (just prior to starvation), it will flow at the same velocity as the oil pump would normally provide, so the flow rate will not vary with the accumulator size, just the amount of time it will flow increases with larger accumulator volumes.

I should have pictures of the cabin filter install within the next 48 hours. Incidentally, I think you mean to ask if relocating the battery is better for weight distribution/balance, and yes it is.

Okay,
I just got off the phone with a person at BAT. For the SVT, they told me that I would need to install a remote oil filter to install the Accusump. So, to the ones with SVT's, how did you plumb in it? Is it through the main galley similiar to Pope or are you guys using some type of sandwich adapter or through a remote oil filter?
