I'd rather just get high from something else.
I'd say 99% of people in the thread haven't had any. If they had, they probably wouldn't be clamoring to get some. Its not like a nutmeg high, Absinthe has hallucinogenic properties, more like acid than anything else.
Wasn't saying it was the same kinda high. I was comparing it to the fact that to get high you have subject yourself to something. Like nutmeg, you gotta eat it and it's not good. And with absinthe, you gotta drink a ton, until you are drunk, which would cloud the high, and it probably isn't the best tasting alcoholic drink you can get.
And if you want an acid high, just get some acid.
I've heard that you can make absinthe.

Real absinthe is made with worm wood which is a banded beverage in the US. The stuff sold here is not the same.

It is green it is just a bad pic. The stuff I have came from England and I spent 3 years over there. And I have had a lot of Absinthe, I'm a bartender.

My brother-in-law brought me some from France, green, shmeen, with a Van Gogh face printed on the box the bottle was in, with a glass, with a spoon and all them accessories they used to drink this stuff with. Then I read the text on the box - it said that in France the absinthee was prohibited shortly after the WWI, so this stuff wasn't containing anything good and real. I guess they still make it in Brazil and Che... whatever the name of this European country is (Prague is the capital.)

That would be the Czech Rep. there buddy. There are about 35 different makes of the stuff in the Czech. I just got some a few days ago but really you have to know what's good. They can get very pricey. France makes good stuff, there is one guy who analized about 100 bottles that were over 100 years old and found what he was making was pretty damn close to the real thing. You just have to know where to get it. In anycase if you make the drink properly it is like Sambuca but not as think but green. I happen to like that taste. Plus pouring a shot through a burning sugar cube is cool, get's attention at the bar.
