Alright, I am not the most computer savy, but I can get my way around a little. Anyways, I have been trying to DL upgraded drivers for my Ati product. I have had nothing but problems with this DL. To make a long story short I had to restore my system using th system disks, as it only wanted to boot up in safe mode for a while. I downloaded the ATI cat.unistaler program to totaly remove the previous drivers(ati recommended), and tried downloading the three files,
Dao,tv/video drivers and multimedia center. I received a error message: unable to load sql server odbl driver resource dll, anyone ever heard of this? Ati claims they can do nothing and say its a Microsoft software issue. I can't justify a $35 a phone call to MS. Here is my system:

2000 Hp Pavillion
WinMe
P3 800mgz
190 mb ram
Usb sound card(internal still hooked up)
factory video card(nvidia)
ATI tv wonder pro

The old software worked fine, but had no sound on capture video. I may just go back to using that, but I would realy like to get to the bottom of this. Thanks for any help.

I would not say that you have to reformat and start from scratch, generally if you can get into Windows you can fix it.

If you restored from your restore disks, I would imagine that this is what probably happened anyway ... if you lost your data then it is.

As far as drivers go ... did you have any problems with the original drivers from when you restored?
If at all possible, try and get your PC back to the point where it last worked.
If you can send me the exact message that comes up when you get this error, along with what software you have installed I should be able to formulate a fix for you.

By the way, reformatting hard disks is generally a last ditch effort. It's kind of like taking your car in and being told you need to replace your tranmission, when in fact it can be rebuilt for less.
