The new Sport Compact Car is featuring an RSX shootout from the different tuner companies, GReddy being one of them. GReddy is the only company that is offering a turbo kit for the RSX at this time. The ONLY engine management unit that they are using is the GReddy eManage.

What I want you guys to hear is the following:

Quote:
"Since the RSX has no fuel return line, the classic fuel enrichment system relying on a high-volume pump and pressure regulator would not be used. Instead, this was an opportunity for the GReddy engineers to incorporate the company's new E-Manage piggyback fuel computer. This auxiliary brain allows its user to trim the fuel systems duty cycle under low-load conditions, improving idle, low-rpm driveability and fuel economy. Under boost, the E-Manage computer applies GReddy's pre-programmed fuel map for a shot of fuel proportional to the level of boost achieved by the turbo."
The car produced 243 HP at the wheels and did a quarter mile in 13.7 at 108.4 mph

It doesn't specify what level of boost and other finer details. However, the message is clear:

The eManage provided a complete Air/Fuel/Timing computer to drive a turbo kit, and it was even done on a returnless fuel system.

Yes, I have everything but the ignition timing done. AF map and injector pulse width map are working great.
I should have the ignition working soon.

does this mean a new aftermarket chip isn't needed? that the stock ecu can be used?

It is very easy to tune the eManage even though it should be done on a dyno. The software has a built in trace feature that shows which part of the AF, injection, timing maps are being accessed at each throttle position and rpm.
You can hook up the laptop, open the desired map, then turn on the trace function. When you go full throttle through a run, you will see the affected cells (like a spreadsheet) light up in yellow. Then you can make changes just to those cells and run it again.

You could tune the AF ratio on the dyno potentially in 3 runs. I did this on the dyno and I was able to get a pretty flat AF curve except that I had all kinds of issues because my wires and coil packs were bad at the time.

I will wait until the timing unit is ready for testing before I head up to the dyno again, hopefully within the next two weeks.
