Try the Guinness Extra Stout. I can't stand the flat pub draft crap either.
Wow, now THAT is blasphemous. I will say a prayer for you to the Guinness and beer gods in general. After saying that, I deem you unworthy to drive a GTO, you don't deserve it. Go get a 88 Escort LX.

What is really odd is that brown ales are near the top of my favorites list. I still think I must have had incredibly bad luck and randomly received 5 bad pints. Or, maybe I just had a beer I enjoyed more before hand and it tainted my impressions.

Tastes good, but out of style.
Although I did have 3 at happy hour today.

I drink Labatts Blue on a regular basis , but Yuengling lager is a good fallback .
A couple other tastey beers I've had (over in the UK) are Beamish Stoudt , Banks Bitter Stoudt , Strongarm (red bitters) and (of course) Guiness (which is NOTHING like the crap they call Guiness here in the US ) . I also had some tasty hard cider over there called Strongbow . That stuff kicked my butt good !

How is it out of style? Last time I was in Colorado, most of the restaurants had it on tap.

The cider really does sneak up on you. Next time, ask for a snakebite, pilsner and draft cider. mmm

Just a word of advice, the Stoli Razz is 10x smoother than the Smirnoff. Next time you're out, pick up a bottle and do a taste test. Chill a shot of both, and you'll never look back.

Someone mentioned Boddington's earlier. Their 'Pub Ale' isn't great but they sell a 'Bitter' in England that is incredible. Anyone seen Boddington's 'Bitter' in the US?
