its a 96 ATX zetec w/ 127k miles. no OD light, never had that flash at me, no CEL like i said, and when there was (a previous time) it was lean bank 1. like i said also, shifting is fine, everything runs great, until i hit about 50, it shifts to 5th gear (i think its 5th?) and until i hit about 60 it usually jerks a couple times.

i dont think it could be timing belt or vacuum, as it completely went away by cleaning the MAF. the other stuff, im not sure. i cant get the PCV valve out. EGR, not sure ill look into it. it doesnt happen with overdrive off at that speed, because it only seems to happen at pretty low RPM's. im just real stumped, i mean i guess all it really is, is a dirty MAF, but i cant figure out why. i cleaned it about two weeks ago, it cant get dirty that quick can it?

im pretty sure that you mean 4th gear... the ATX only has 4 (if im not mistaken) the first 3 are your standard around town gears, then 4th is overdrive.
