Got it, see thats all the answer I needed, not some 1000 word essay on how people wine.
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

Thats what im saying. How is not putting in the friction moddifier going to ruin the tranny. I bet a different smoother feeling tranny if you put it in but ruining it from not putting it in???

Didn't you know that friction mod is the only thing that keeps transmissions together! I mean common, everyone knows that. Geez, I bet you don't even fill your blinker fluid tank!

Can you give us people who don't know any better a little more scientific explanation than that?

I run a pump from my tranny to my blinker fluid resovoir, that way I also get my friction modifier to help prolong the life of my blinker bearings. They blink much smoother with the FM in them
Friction modifier helps your MTX shift smoother - that's it, nothing else.
Your tranny will not blow up or otherwise destruct if you don't use it, but it will probably shift better with it.
The 95 manual IIRC called out to use it, but on later cars it was no longer recommended in the manual, but enterprising CEGRs used it nayway and found it helped. The original P/N was deleted, the new F/M everyone uses is actually listed as a differential fluid product that is probably the same thing as the earlier product with a new P/N. It smells like cat piss, don't get it on you!

The "friction modifyer" only applies to manual transmissions, correct?
