However, back to the question at hand. It's a way to keep the forums clean. If anyone could just come to any forum and say "Hey, i'm selling xyz anybody interested" then the forums wouold be filled with ads, and all disorganized. The same reason people don't post for sale ads on the first page of the news paper. I know when I wanna buy something, i look in the classifieds/group buy forum. It's just a way to keep things nice and tiddy and neat. And it's the rules, don't like em, find someplace else. Just the way it is, and it's like that on most well run forums I've ever seen.
