If you use the proper tire for 19's (+3) the tire diameter is roughly the same and the ride height basically will not change enough to really notice.

+0: 215/50-16 = ~24.3" Dia. (Stock)
+1: 215/45-17 = ~24.7" Dia.
+2: 215/40-18 = ~24.7" Dia.
+3: 215/35-19 = ~24.9" Dia.

215/35-19 will be ~1/2" taller then the stock 215/50-16 depending on the tire manufacturer that is. Not hardly enough to notice and definitely not going to make your car look lifted

I think you might want to compensate for the additional height by purchasing the suspension that drops the most without compromising ride quality. H & R rides very good (my dad has them on his 99' VW Passat, but you may find a lower ride height with Intrax. Evaluate your options and make an ultimate decision.

I am running 19's with 215/35/19 tires, and the decreased tire flex makes the car sit much higher (a 50 series tire on a 16" rim with the same overall diameter of a 35 series tire on a 19 inch rim will sit the car lower since the 50 series tire has more "give" or "flex" thus making the car sit lower.) Not trying to get scientific, but those are the basic principles of ride height change when you plus-size.

I was able to compensate for this by raising or lowering my ground control coilovers. There are many coil over options out there to choose from, but they get more expensive when sold as a set (ex: Koni coil-overs). If you want to keep things simple, stock struts with Intrax springs should do the trick. Let us know how it goes...
