Of course with the steel tube being the largest hold up and the fab shop requiring special dies to bend a 24mm bar, one alternative would be to use a standard/common tube stock of 15/16. I will contact both the steel supplier and the fab shop to provide quotes for the revised material if you folks are interested? I'll pass this along to Stazi and see if he has any objections, it was his specification for 24mm bar and I do not want to overstep his design with out discussing it with him first.

This will affect the cost in a very positive way, yes?
Will it get us close to the original $150 target?
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Yes, it's more common in size in the US so it will be a much cheaper alternative. The 0.19mm difference won't affect the torsional stiffness any perceivable amount.

Im still in. If thats the slightest difference I dont think many would notice. Also if its cheaper more people would still be in. If you can get the GB price for the bar+mounting hardware aroung $200 I dont think thats too bad of a deal. You never know when these will be available again. -tropictour

MaxwellChurch, Once again thank you for your efforts. I am in to about $175, after that, that would be to steep for me. I am really hoping this could be done before the flakes begin to fly again here in Colorado and the SVT goes into Hibernation. -B.
