Oh, just to stir things up some more...
Brady>Farve
Oh...and college world series? There are some people who think that Curling is the most exciting sport. Or hot dog eating competitions. The College World Series gets about the same amount of national attention as spelling bees on ESPN2.

Still haven't. Tell me what your biggest tourism attraction is? Seriously. I want to know.
Since we've never met, how do you know what my values are? Stop trying to use it as a scape goat. Anyone that's a democrat must be an Northeast Elitist too, right?
I love Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, and even enjoy Texas, but I guess that means I'm a Northeast elitist...
Originally posted by Davo: I never said I consider it the most exciting sporting event, but many people do. Perhaps your disdain for college baseball is more evidence of your northeast elitism. Since there are never any good Boston teams, then the sport is boring.
Actually, both BC and Northeastern typically have some good College Baseball teams. Not great, but noteworthy. Additionally, we've got the Cape Cod league over here. You may have heard of it. If not, do a little research and get back to me. That's some GREAT baseball. College, not so much.
Originally posted by Davo: You asked for something that Nebraska has. I gave. Don't excuse it.
I didn't excuse it. In fact, I acknowledged it. However, if you read my original question, I asked about a city worth mentioning. The best you've given me is Omaha with the College World Series. Comeon. Even you've got to admit you're stretching.
Originally posted by Davo: Anaheim Angels? Anaheim is to LA what New England is to Boston. If you consider the Patriots a 'Boston' team, then I will consider the Anaheim Angels an LA team.
Certainly this is not the same. LA has a baseball team, Anahiem also has a Baseball team. When Hartford had a Hockey team, we didn't consider them part of Boston, now did we? Where was the New England Patriots parade? Oh that's right, it took place in downtown Boston. The very same place ALL 3 Celebrations have taken place.
Where was Anahiem's celebration parade? Give up? It was in Disneyland. Where is Disney Land? Anaheim CA! Not exactly the same, now is it. But it sure would have fit your arguement nicely. Nice try though. I swear, if there is anyone that likes to twist facts more than you, I certainly haven't met them.
Originally posted by Davo: I can. You're forgetting about the Anaheim Angels. Didn't forget, it just doesn't apply. Again, don't loosely apply your standards only when they benefit you the most.
How have I done this? I think I'm sticking pretty damn close to them. Also, something you should know. The BOSTON Red Sox are supported by ALL of New England. With Boston being sort of the Capital of New England. In fact, the BOSTON Red Sox have taken the WORLD SERIES TROPHY to EVERY STATE IN NEW ENGLAND. So, when I mentioned that BOSTON is dominating in sports, I think most people UNDERSTOOD that as New England Professional Sports. But, since you like to nitpick, I'll let you continue to [censored] about it.
Originally posted by Davo: Celtics a great team? Someone pick me up off the floor. The LOS ANGELES Lakers have 3 championships in the last 5 years. The Celtics have none. To even think about putting the Celtics of the last five years in the same category as the Lakers of the last five years is completely insane. And the only reason they're making a playoff run now is because their conference is so bad they couldn't even compete with the Big 10.
I certainly wasn't refering to the Celtics in the last few years. I was thinking back more to the 80s. They were a great team. Hey, we can't win them all in the same year. Otherwise our entertainment budgets would be through the roof.
As I said before, stop ignoring the facts, and let's move along. Piss away all you want, but I'm done.

Exactly. Brady makes fewer mistakes and is far more successful. Farve has played more games, though.

No, because they probably weren't any good.
Yeah, this is a useless pissing contest. The northeasterners are stuck in their little box with hallucinations brought on by a couple championships. Their attitudes towards sports are the same about politics, where they will one day wake up and realize that people away from the eastern seaboard actually exist.

I have never read a thread where I lauged so much about someones (Davo) comments. Yayyy! 1995 was a great year for Nebraska. That was DECADE ago. Move on. Zack...why even try? You're such an elitist Admit it. I'm too lazy to type like you - otherwise I'd be making and reiterating the same points you have been. Good job on this one...

Oh Lord not the Brady is better than Favre stuff again. Let's make sure Brady is a significant player on his team for at least more than 4 years before we start with that swill.

Elky, I tried looking for the Eugene Wilson video for about 30 minutes, but now I've got to get back to work. I'll try again tonight, but haven't found it through the usual channels yet.
Maybe tomorrow.

Funny how NFL guys aren't mentioning Farve when comparing Brady to other QBs, they bypass him and talk about the greatest.
Anyway,
Davo, I'm not from the north east, I cannot stand the Boston Red Sox (least favorite team along with the Cubs), but no matter who won the superbowl, this post would exist about the winning team. As much as it pains me to admit it, the NE area has done remarkably well.
zgendron, you are absolutely wrong about Anaheim. That would definitely be considered an LA team, the location of a parade doesn't really matter.
I'm not even a particularly big NE fan, but because Brady is a former wolverine, I had to root for his team. Besides, how could anyone NOT like their team. They represent everything that is good about football and sports. A team of overacheivers not concerned about personal accolades.
