I did a total double-take on the Raptor flyby...I think those Super Hornets had confused me. McCartney was quite good. Hurray for not letting MTV produce the show this time, saved us from having to see a half-assed combo of washed-up nostalgia rockers and flavor-of-the-moment corporate flunkies trying to look like they were meant to perform together (hello, Aerosmith and Nelly did not mix and Mary J. Blige just looked like she was wondering if the check would clear). Of course, there was that odd spectacle of the American Idol girl singing the national anthem over the recording (vastly superior) of Ray Charles's rendition and surrounded by...I dunno, I didn't catch the makeup of that group but they all looked like they were either blind or otherwise "special needs". And then we got the anthem again from the military choruses, done appropriately. Weird.
Hey, did anyone else see that Eagle get his shoulder knocked out of socket in slo-mo on that one play? Guy's arm had collided with a Pats' leg and then it looked like the entire arm went detached and started to rotate. Not as gross as a compound fracture (hi, Mr. Theismann), but impressive nonetheless.

I found the Super Bowl commercials to be more amusing than some parts of the game.
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

First the Sox, now the Pats. Sucks to be a Bruins fan.

"America The Beautiful" is not a Ray Charles song! Brother Ray set the bar for performing it, though. I would have just broadcast the playback and left Keyes out of it.

FINALLY someone that admits it!!! Goonz seems to think all the Pats fans have been fans through thick and thin.

I spent five minutes on the floor laughing at that. First of all, it's the New England Patriots, not the Boston Patriots. There is a difference, however I don't think you'll see it. And it's always customary when two sports win championships for a region or city to claim they dominate sports. 'Dominating sports' is winning at least 3 of the championships, or winning conference championships in at least three sports. I don't see how the Bruins can dominate their league when their league isn't even playing, but that's not to say they would dominate if it was. The Celtics? Please. They were the worst playoff team in the history of the NBA last year and if their conference and division wasn't so pathetic they wouldn't be anywhere near the playoff race. And I hope you don't think BC is 'dominating' college basketball right now.
Cliff's Notes: The idea that Boston is 'dominating' sports is quite ridiculous.

And that was BEFORE the Red Sox won the World Series, and the Pats won this year. Need I mention the UNDEFEATED BC Basketball team? Who do you think will win it this year???
Whatever, I'm not going to get in a pissing match about this with someone from Nebraska. Do you guys even have a city worth mentioning in that state?

Davo,
The New England Patriots reside close enough to Boston to be considered one of Boston's teams. As much as it pains me to see it, the Boston area has been fairly dominate compared to other cities/areas in the last 5 years.
