So sorry to hear, JVT.
Upon hearing my Dads passing, I was in his bedroom for an hour or so to relieve the stress. After that, shock made one week seem like one day. Once I gained grip again, it was a slow and steady process of getting better. Just keep that thought in mind..it
will get better. My Dad had ministrokes over the summer of '03, had the stroke that June, had brain surgery and removed a clot..the size and shape of a kiwi from the front of his head..survived all of it, 400,000 dollars later (covered of course)..and he died the first day of nursing home for recovery. We opted not to find out what it was that killed him, but we speculate that the doctors were unaware of possible colon cancer (in which my Dad was stubborn of the tests to detect it).
He was 65. I'm sorry for the sad story I just told you. But even after that, the deed wasn't updated from his previous marriage, in which his first spouse is deceased. The house became an estate, and we had to fight to get it back.
My mother and I barely get by, and the house is cheaper than an apartment. So we stay here. I know the stress.
I hope you and your family deal well, and I hope you do better than I did (am).
Best of luck JVT. Feel better man.
