John -

Very sorry to hear your loss. I can't imagine how you are dealing with this and I feel for you and your family.

God bless.

John,
My father passed away from brain cancer when I was 14 so I (like many others here) know where you are coming from.

I'm not a religious person by any means but someone told me something once that I think relates well to situations like this "God took your (loved one) beacause he knows that you are strong enough to handle it."

That is probably not what you wanted to hear, but it has served me well thoughout my life thus far.

No words can ever dull the ache of such a loss; I know as I've lost two people very dear to me this last year and words, no matter how eloquently pieced together, did little.

The ultimate consolation to me was the legacy that I will carry forward: passing along to others what was taught me by those that have passed on before their time and sharing the good times with friends and family.

May God comfort you and your family during such a hellish time.
