I have a 98 Zetec and plan on changing the springs and struts to SVT versions. The reason for this instead of the BAT set-up is I can purchase these parts used for very cheap.
What I need to know is besides the stuts and springs are there any other parts I will need to make the switch.
Spring perches? Different bolts?

Thanks for the help,
Jon
I did search but I didn't come up with anything but if you do just let me know.

Just the springs and struts. SVT struts=t3h suck.

Well, the SVT struts and springs will fit just fine. Since you have a 98, there's no difference to the mounting, etc.

The struts are pretty good, for OEM pieces, despite what Kremit says. You just don't want to pair them with aftermarket lowering springs.

However, SVT springs will make your Zetec car look lifted in the front.

Does anyone have a pic of this "lifting"? Judging by the weight difference in the cars (50-100 lbs) I wouldn't think that this would be much an issue.

Thanks for the info!

Yes. I hate to say "search" but I know this has come up before. Could be some dead links, though.

50-100 lbs off the front end is a big deal. And a small difference in wheel well gap is noticeable to the eye.

SVT has a heavier V-6, thicker radiator, oil cooler, and it's all situated a little differently than the 4. It adds up. Try taking the battery out to give yourself an idea.

All I said was that they suck. It's all in interpretation.

Yeah you'll look a bit lifted. Heck, my lowered car looks about the same as some stock v6 'tours. Then again, there are other v6 tours that aren't lowered and looks like you need a ladder to get in the car. It's a strange case by case kinda thing.

Yeah. We know what you said. I disagreed. End of story.

No. I said they suck. They suck because they blow out so quickly with a mild drop. But now that I think about, they have been known to blow out in 60k-80k miles on stock springs.
Ok, yeah we disagree. They just plain suck.

That's it! I've had it with you Kremit, and now I'm resorting to web-violence!

Take that !
